After hundreds of rounds of 55 grain Win Q3131A1 5.56mm through the 6920 and my groupings being just plain horrible (6"+) I finally found some Hornady TAP .223 75 grain BTHP. Well all I can say is that it is a night and day difference, this stuff shot great. As you can see from the pic, it shot about a 2" 10 shot group @ 100 yards which is about as good as I could group them today. I can finally get down to ordering all the stuff to start reloading.

I know the feeling..I shot primarily PMC bronze and XM193 when i first got into AR's. When I stumbled upon MK262 and 5.56 TAP, I couldn;t believe how much of a difference there was in accuracy..

How far?

I reload for my Colt 6920 and I loaded 300 rounds of ammo with the same bullets that Hornady uses for the TAP ammo for about 70 dollars.

Just FYI, the Hornady 55gr Spire points that Midway sells did about as well as the TAP equivalent loads at 100 yards, and the bullets are
92 dollars per 1000.

Sorry, it was 100 yards. I really was just making sure the rifle or scope wasnt messed up before I started buying reloading stuff. I was starting to get worried with the way the rifle was shooting but all is good now. I think I might get a few different weights of bullets to start out with and then dial it in from there. At $19 for a box of 20 on the TAP, I cant wait to start reloading.

TAP is very accurate ammo. Although the price tag locally is pretty steep. Until I stockpile a sizeable stash I'll stick w/ XM193. Nice groupings though!

When you start looking into reloading, check out noslers ballistic tip bullets if you're looking for a varmint round. For 55 grn,  It's about $18 per 100 or $42 for 250.  In my 6920 I get around 1.5 inch groups with an Acog at 100yds and using AA2230 for powder.  Also Hornadys FMJ bullets are great and easy on the wallet.
