| Hey I know this is probably a dumb question but I seriously don't know. What is the difference in a railed forend that is free float and one that isn't? What are the benefits? |
| a free float rail attaches to the upper reciever and does not touch the barrel. A non freefloated attaches to the receiver and the barrel at the gas block. Advantage of free float is increased accuracy potential because the barrel is allowed to vibrate freely and if you rest the fore-end on anything, it doesnt put any pressure on the barrel. |
