I keep thinking about building a long-railed AR.....SBRs are a no-no in Michigan so it has to be 16" OAL. However, I've seen many rifles on here that I think just make that....anyone happen to have pics of non-NFAed long railed ARs for inspiration?
I'm thinking something like this for myself: Noveske lower (got one left over from the last freebie deal) w/SOPMOD or maybe ACS stock MUR-1A upper with Larue 13.2" rail Noveske Afghan barrel cut down to ~13.7" (Noveske doesnt seem to offer their 13.7" Infidel barrel separate) with a pinned Piggy to make 16" I'm not necessarily set on a Noveske barrel...but if I'd have to have a barrel cut down(the only barrel I've seen offered in 13.7" is WOA) I may as well get a Noveske. | Yeah, except I'm thinking short barrel/long rail. I dunno what it is about those rifles but I'm seriously considering building one. I'm basically looking for pics that are roughly what I'm thinking about building: 13.2" rail/ 13.7" barrel with a Piggy or something similar... |

Interesting....
I don't mind the KX3 on the end of my 10.5" pistol...but it's a very lightweight piece as it is...I built it as a KISS range toy. I haven't put much thought into this build...I just like the looks of those loooooong rails. 
I'll have to take a look into building a long-railed 14.5" middy. Thanks for the input guys!! -D2V |
