Hey,
I am triying to find info on rail weights to make a lighter 3 gun upper? I already have a DD 12" rail and a Noveske 11" rail and am wondering the weight differnce? Plus what is the weight of going to a V-TAC 12"/ JP Rifle type rail? Is it much lighter? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. T |

Here's a couple links comparing forearm weights for AR's.

I've got the Troy TRX-E and really like it so far. 13" tube on a 16" barrel. It's nice and light, as well as rock solid. As a bonus it's also one of the slimmest floaters out there diameter wise. Nice! That is what i am looking for. I kow the DD rail is solid, but I had heard weird things about the barrel nut on the Troy rail. Thanks T |
| After the initial release, Troy changed the barrel nut and now includes a wrench specifically for it to avoid the problems with rounding over that the first ones had. the narrow profile of the rail makes for a barrel nut with shallower recesses for a standard barrel nut wrench to hold on to which led to some folks rounding them over during instal. It was all sorted out before I got mine and I had no problems with the instal. |
