Ok lets talk side charging handles. what I'm in the middle of building is an SBR with a piston upper. I came across this side charging handle and upper combo for gas systems and it ought my attention.
Now what I am looking for is a bolt carrier that has the same type of configuration. I've got a BAD lever on my current AR and I think having a side charging handle would help lock the bolt back when I'm shooting lefty and when no mag is inserted very much! for example, when shooing left handed and a double feed happens etc. Anyway, are there any available for piston setups?? I also have access to the proper equipment that would allow me to tap threads into the side of an existing piston bolt, and make one myself using a lathe. but that's only being considered if there is no piston side charging handle system available. |
