New to the forum. Not an AR owner yet, but ordered a Colt 6920 last week. I'm a 16-year veteran civilian police officer with 7 years US Army MP Corps experience prior to that. I cut my teeth on an M16A1 during bootcamp in 1988 and transitioned to the A2 shortly after Desert Storm when the 2nd Armored Division disbanded and we inherited their guns.
In my department we went to Bushmaster AR's shortly after the big LA shootout. Due to numerous wear and tear issues with them we transitioned to the 6920s a few years ago. I don't know what was wrong with them, I'm not one of our departmental armorers, and I really don't want to stir up a Colt vs. Bushmaster debate. I'm merely explaining why I chose Colt. I'm signed up here for information related to my new toy and it's a pleasure meeting all of you. I don't have a great deal of firearms, but I'll list what I have: Marlin .22 (my first rifle, got for Xmas when I was 12) .410 shotgun (my first gun, got when I was 8) Winchester 12 ga. Enfield black powder musket Norinco SKS pimped out with Tapco Mosin Nagant rifle Glock 28 9mm(backup gun) H&K USP .45 |
