I could use some recommendations for a gas block that I am going to use on a new build. I am only interested in a gas block that can be pinned. This upper will be used and possibly abused, so I don't want the gas block to be moving around. Barrel has a mid-length gas system and the gas block will be under the rail. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

chop the original FSB?

Or, call ADCO and ask which low-pro block they can custom pin for you.

Thanks for the reply. It's a stripped (centurion) barrel, so if I had a FSB pinned, I would just leave it. I actually prefer the FSB, but I thought I would do something different this time.

I am planning on having ADCO do the pinning, but I need to find a good gas block first. The only one I am aware of that comes ready to be pinned is the Vltor block. Any others?

Hmmm... after thinking some more - maybe I should think about just having ADCO chop and pin a FSB. They are not pretty, but they are very functional.

I dont think having ADCO cut and pin a FSB would gain you anything. The couple of FSB's I cut down were just cause I didnt want to pay the expense of buying a new GB and risk the possibility of the rifle not cycling properly after the FSB was removed and a lo-pro GB was put on. I say you have ADCO pin a lo-pro GB on and call it a day. You could always try to pin it yourself using  this.

Ah, ok.  Stripped Centurion.  I ASSumed what you had already came drilled/tapped w/ a FSB, in which case it'd be easy/cheap enough to just dremel it down.  Since you're starting from scratch, choosing a good low-pro block (like a Vltor as recommended above) and having it pinned yourself, or by a pro with the right tools is the way to go.

In other words, concur with the above wisdom from mil_dot556 & rageracing.
