back in the mid-eighties I built a standard model from a kit from ....nesards.. with a pwa forged lower and upper.
it's been a fine shooter but lacks the adjustable rear sight of the newer models. I found a new a-2 upper fully loaded(sight and ejection door).
since it's been decades since i asembled it, can anyone reccomend a disassembley/reassembly procedure plus any procedures required for the final fitting of the
barrel to the new upper receiver?

thanks in advance...

IMO you shouldn't do what you want to do or at least send me the A1 upper for disposal.....

Check the hometown forum as well: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=8&f=15

We have a pretty active crew and there's a good chance someone local to you can lend a hand or watch over your shoulder. We've even built a lower in a sports bar.

well, acman i think i'll hang onto the upper....you never know when you might need it!

thank you both for your replies! both sites look good and i love doing things myself!  this is a great forum!
my biggest concern was barrel and upper alignment and torque. as long as i'm at it, i'm gonna' look for a better grade barrel.
i know my m1a match shoots better than i do but i find i can shoot better than my ar15 and i need the better rifle to grow into,
if you get my drift. thanks again!
i'll be back!
