Can anyone tell me the main advantages/ drawbacks of installing a heavy or extra heavy buffer and spring? My rifle is a Stag Arms 2TL. I plan on slapping on a MagPul UBR MilSpec stock assembly soon if that has any bearing on your responses. Thank you!

A heavy duty spring or heavy buffer will alter your ejection path of spent rounds as well as the dwell time (time between shots). If you shoot different types of ammo, like low powered wolf and full power milspec stuff, the gun will act differently too.

If you're getting a UBR, it uses a different buffer tube but the buffer and spring will remain the same.

Since you're in CA, I'm going to assume that you won't be shooting FA(full auto). That being the case, a standard carbine buffer & spring is fine. If you're having issues with short stroking, ejection issues, or an odd ejection path, let us know and we can tell you how to fix the issue.
