My Colt stock seems to be a little to short for my arms, so is there a longer stock available or is a pad at the end the way to go? My cheek is at the junction of where the tube and the stock meet when fully extended, which makes it a little uncomfortable.

Thats where mine is. If that bothers you, you could get an A2 stock.

Try turning into the weapon when you shoot it instead of turning sideways. I'm 6'2" and I shoot on the second shortest position of my stock with that method. It also helps to control muzzle flip.
