Can you guys tell me which lower has the MilSpec and which has the Comm. buffer tube ?
The one that is slightly larger is which ? I think it might have a slanted end as well, as opposed to flat. Thanks guys |

Which lower? I didn't understand that question but.....
Mil-Spec tubes are smaller in diameter than commercial tubes. Stay with Mil-Spec, it gives you more options. BTW-Commercial tubes tend to have a slant at the back where as Mil-Spec usually don't. This is a generalization only. I've heard of mil-spec tubes with slant rears and vice versa. |

Sorry for the sloppy wording.
I have two lowers, one I built and one I bought complete. Being kinda new to the building aspect didn't relize there was two different buffer tubes out there. After building my first lower came across a deal on a second lower already built ( no stock ) and bought it . Once I had both lowers in hand I quickly relized there was a difference in the buffer tubes. One buffer was slightly larger w/ a angled end and the other was slightly smaller with a flat end. I am about to order some parts for both, including stocks, and want make sure I know which is which before I order. Thanks for the replys from the new guy. |

More specific info. from Magpul, a site sponsor, at this link: Buffer tube id
Off the top of my head, complete lowers from some manufacturers come with commercial size buffer tubes: Bushmaster, RRA are two examples. The thread sizes are the same on each type. |
