Just wondering which upper I should go with? I have a CMMG lower which is teflon coated, which uppers are there out there that have the same finish? I know CMMG offers one, are there any others?

Why would you go with any other than the CMMG? The quality is as good as any production rifle, and it'll match the finish of the lower. Find yourself a 16" mid length and you're set.

Glazer,
It doesn't say anywhere their receivers are teflon coated...

14.5" middy with perm Vortex  (but if you want a ff rail (dd, larue, et al) decide before they perm attach the vortex.)

ETA:  I wouldn't give the "matching finish" too much concern.  If you're not married to CMMG, why not go with BCM, Spikes, a DD upper, or something along those lines?

I can't vouch for the CMMG M4 upper being "teflon coated" but they do go together just fine!

CMMG's definitely have a coating over the anno that gives it a different finish.

CMMG piston upper will match perfectly.

None of my all CMMG carbines match in finish so this is not a good comparison.

Match in finish to what? I don't think I've ever had an AR type riflr that exactly matchced upper and lower, but the CMMG with it's different finish is going to be a much more obvious mis-match with a non CMMG receiver than any other. Point is, the CMMG upper is plenty good AFA quality, relibility, and accuracy as any other, and will CLOSEST match hte CMMG lower.

BCM middy upper for my CMMG lower, the color match is pretty good too.

All of my CMMG uppers matched my AMEETEC lowers pretty well. Leave them together in a dark place for a few days, and they end up matching perfectly!

OK, so I'm gonna go with CMMG Upper. Receiver. Who else besides CheaperthanDirt offers this receiver? Not a complete upper, just the receiver...

Mine don't perfectly match, but KNS Precision set me up with my complete CMMG lower, with a factory complete carbine RRA upper.  The upper to lower fit was excellent and snug.  Only issue i've had with CMMG lower is when I tried to put single point sling adapter/plate on.  the rear of the lower made very plate we tried kind of teeter-totter, as it wasn't truly flat.  I was told by the shop that they have seen this issue with other CMMG lowers.

Besides many site sponsors (e.g., AIM Surplus) I would highly recommend Southern Michigan Arms.  Great customer service and even better pricing.  I spec'd out an upper on CMMG's website, sent the details to Chuck, who then quoted me a super price (substantially lower than MSRP).
