Do the military issue A4's have M4 feed ramps, or are they normal A2 feed ramps? Also, do they have the upper receiver T-markings? Thanks

[#1]
as for the feedramps I think the answer is NO...I've read it on another thread.
they should have Tmarkings AFAIK

A4s and the other standard rifles should not have M4 feed ramps. M4 carbines do.

A4a and M4s should have T-marks but no doubt you'll find anything that works.

I dont think the military ones have M4 ramps. The newer ones produced by Sabre, BCM, Bushmaster, etc... do have M4 ramps though. I think its a new trend being adopted by many manufacturers.
And they should all have T markings

Thanks guys. I'm about to start building my A4 clone and I want to get as close as I possibly can. So it looks like I need an upper with T-markings and standard feed ramps.

check PKfirearms.  He always has a load of uppers without ramps.

Will do. Thanks!

It's hard to find a quality (HP, MP, tested) Flatop upper or berrel assembly without feedramps and a proper Fmarked front sight.  I went with a BCM upper for mine.  I don't mind having the feedramps even if it isn't 100% correct.

The M4 feed ramp is suppose to be more reliable, correct?

For a carbine yes.  The A4 does not have cuts, it is just like the A2.

Is CMT acceptable?

It is an added insurance if you are using well worn mags of questionable feedramp lips.

Given a choice I would rather have them then not.

Here is My M16A4 clone built using a BCM upper. I would like to take off the BCM lettering if anyone know how without damage.
It is using a KAC M5 rail. Still need to get the KAC rail covers and maybe one day a ACOG TA31f and Matech. For now it is using a Colt carry handle.

Very nice crowdig! I was also thinking about M&A Parts for an upper. Are they acceptable? And out of the two, would CMT or M&A be better? Thanks

A4s do have M4 feed ramps. Yes the ones used in the military.

I have heard that M&A are pretty low end stuff.

CMT is essentially Stag.

CMT makes Stag parts and parts for lots of other manufacturers.

I have used CMT/Stag parts with no problems but have never used any M&A stuff.

I have used M and A  parts. I like them.

What exactly is the purpose of the T-markings on a flat top upper?

I'm a big Armalite fan, so it's being built on an Armalite lower, so I think I'm gonna go with an Armalite upper as well.

I just put together an A4 upper using a BCM upper, a KAC M5, and a Bushy 1/7 barrel.  Put it together this afternoon and it all went together great.  The only thing that caught me a bit off guard was when I bore sighted in the Aimpoint (just to get it close to zero for actual range zeroing, obviously).  When I matched the irons up to the aimpoint's dot, I had to adjust the front sight post pretty far down into the non-F-marked front sight base.  Now, maybe I horribly screwed up the bore sight, but I checked a few more times with the same result.  We'll see when I get it to the range.  I'll post pics of my frankengun shortly.

ETA: This is a real quick pic in a tub (that needs to be washed).

Covers (except for the rear bottom rail) are obviously Promag.  I couldn't afford the KAC panels when I bought most of this stuff.

If Sabre is using them these days, are they using them on the ones they make for the .mil as well?

I'm thinking about an Armalite upper with either a Colt, Sabre Defence, or FN (If I can find one) 1/7 twist government profile barrel. Oh, and please post the pics!

It's a Nodak-Spud retro lower.  I've had it for a little while now.  They aren't the cheapest lowers on the market because they are made in small batches.

Go here.

Why dont you like the M.P. trigger guard? I am not a fan of it either. I spent 15 bucks on it so I am going to use it. I like the KAC one better.

On a .MIL clone if trying to be correct I too like the stock look.
I love Magpul on regular guns but for this kind of set up stock is just right.
