Pulled my Colt 6920's gritty, shitty trigger group and sent it off to Bill Springfield a week or so ago. Just got a chance to shoot the rifle yesterday, and the reworked trigger is now darn near the equal of my RRA 2-stagers. The grit gone and the takeup seems like it's been reduced. Letoff is crisp clean and and I'd estimate the pull is maybe a 1/2 lb. or so more than my 2 Rock River triggers.

This is a 5-shot group using a "budget" 1x red dot sight, and it's only at 25 yards, but it's indicative of the improvement in the trigger. I couldn't have done this before the trigger job! (Life-sized Osama Bin Laden target. Image cropped to show results. Impact area blown up for detail Holes are ragged because cardboard target backer was blown out. Colt 6920, American Eagle black box 5.56 55 gr. FMJ.)

(Note I'm not affiliated with Mr. Springfield in any way except as a happy customer. I just feel good work needs to be recognized and applauded.)

What trigger pull weight did you order?Did you measure or just guessing? My RRA NM 2 stage is 5 lbs 12 oz on my Lyman Trigger Pull Gauge.I ordered a Bill Springfield for another AR of mine, the 4 Lb and it measured 7 lbs 6 Oz and I was not happy because he advertised 4 lbs but only $40 so did not loose a lot on it. I spent the money on a Geissle....its set to 3 lbs 5.8 Oz.

Nope, don't have a gauge. I've pulled many a trigger in my day, and even tuned some target revolver triggers myself, and I have a pretty good 'seat of the pants' feel for them.

Mine was one of the 4 lb. jobs, too, and I'd guess it's between 4 and 5. It's not critical to me, since a predictable trigger break is more important to me than a light trigger. But there's no question it's no longer the 7-9 lb. pull of the original .mil trigger (and I've pulled a few of those, too!).

You might want to have your gauge checked, or make sure you're using it correctly. And if I got a trigger back from Bill with a 7-1/2 lb. pull I'd return it ... I'm sure he''d make it right.
