| What do you guys think? I already own a Bushmaster but I would like to own something a little classier. I've been looking at BCM uppers at around $900 but after you add on the bcg, charging handle, front and rear sights you are looking at $1300-$1400. I saw the colt 6940 complete upper at Botach for$1000. which way should I go? |

| I vote Bravo. Just remember the old saying you get what you pay for. My Bravo middy does not have a CHF bbl and it was around $475 + CH+BCG and its a very nice upper. When you factor in all of the money with the CHF bbl, the rails and the time it took to put them on, its really not that much. |

Are you looking to improve accuracy or reliability? In which way is your bushmaster failing.
The best way to improve your upper is to improve your abilities. At least one 3-day carbine class a year, more if you can afford it. When you can shoot faster and more accurate than the Bushmaster is cabple of, then its time to upgrade equipment. |
Get the BCM upper. You probably don't need the BFH, the regular BCM barrels are excellent already. $475 for the upper + another $200 for BCG, CH, and plastic handgaurds and you're all set (well, except for the lower ).If you're going the budget conscious route a CMMG isn't too bad. I've got a CMMG middy that runs good (had to upgrade the extractor with a Bravo Company extra power extractor spring and O-ring). Beyond that it runs great. Not a match upper, but it's chrome lined and is 1:7 twist. Works for me. I just blast with it anyway. It comes with BCG, CH, and handguards, so it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the premium stuff. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/CMMG_.223_5.56x45_AR15_Mid_Length_16__Complete_Upper_Half.html |

BCM has uppers that offer either choice, standard upper is reliable and long lasting, SS uppers are reliable, long lasting and accurate as hell. Colt will be long lasting and reliable, but not overwhelmingly accurate. LaRue will be super accurate, more than reliable, but maybe a little heavy, |

The whole upper ran $600. Then throw on a LaRue tactical rail for $270 and a Troy flip rear for $150 and your done for just over $1000. BCM is good stuff, I agree with everyone else that you would be fine with their normal CL model. |

I think 99% of people would be better off spending more money on ammo and training. I have said this before. I can sit here and fart around on arfkom all afternoon and convince myself I need a Noveske upper. But do I REALLY shoot better than my LMT upper? I wish I could say yes |

I'd get the Bravo Company 410 SS upper with whatever handguard you want for $900.
BCM 410SS w/DD Lite Add a BCG and C/H for $200ish. Sights for a couple hundred and that's as good as you can get. A LaRue Stealth has got to be the most prestigeous/sexiest complete upper on the market for $1200 complete + sights. A custom from MSTN would be even more expensive. |
