I'm still new to most of this but I thought I'd share pics of my first almost completed AR. The only definites remaining are BUIS and a sling, I'm just trying to decide on a model. I may add a light in the future but am still undecided right now. Also, thanks for all the help and knoweldge from the site, it really helped a lot when it came to choosing parts!
Enough chat onto the rifle: RRA Entry Tactical DD Omega Carbine FF Rail Eotech 512 mounted on GG&G Accucam QD mount and LaRue LT110 QD mount w/ GG&G lens covers LaRue FUG Rollmarks painted courtesy of me :) Enjoy and let me know what you think! http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3946w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3953w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3961w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3967w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3975w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3985w.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_3988w.jpg |

Thanks guys!
Also, if anyone could offer suggestions on zeroing the Eotech that'd be great. I'm going to zero it at 50 yards but what I don't understand is how you know you're looking through it in the correct position? IE you move your cheek position and the dot moves to a different position of the glass. Do you just put your cheek where is most comfortable/best field of view and zero in that position on the center of the reticle? A lot of people seem to zero them with their irons but since I don't have BUIS that will be kinda hard right now lol. |

The reticle is going to move around on the glass when you shift your head. Just put the reticule on what you want to shoot. |

Do a search in this forum for "co-witness" and that should lead you to some info. that would probably be helpful to you. |

Great rifle, we share some parts. I have an Eotech and it was a breeze to sight in. The dot does not change with you. Aim for the center and adjust accordingly. Was shooting moving targets in a swift moving river yesterday with mine. Ruthless efficiency That's what I was looking to hear. I guess I was just over thinking it, I always seem to lol. I'm very pleased with the view and reticle it has, I think it will be a very good choice for fast paced target acquistion. Quoted:
Great first AR! I'd suggest a Vickers Combat Applications 2 point sling, I have them on most all my rifles. And bet it won't be your last AR, Welcome to the disease Thanks for the recommendation and compliments. I already have a Spikes lower on order and will be building it up as funds allow :) My gf keeps asking why in the world I need all these guns, (I bought a shotgun, pistol, and the AR all within a couple of weeks) wonder what she'll say when I show up with another one haha! I definitely like the Vickers sling, that is probably the one I will end up going with. Quoted:

I understand what co-witnessing is but like I said I don't have BUIS yet so I don't think it'd do much good right now? Unless I'm missing something? Thanks. |

O, sorry I missed that, what you waiting for ? Lol no worries. The MBUS and Troy's are the two I was trying to decide between, I just didn't know if the Troy was worth the extra money. I think you're right though and I will probably just go with the MBUS since I don't plan on using it too much anyways. Magpul seems to have some top notch stuff anyhow, love the Pmags Quoted:
You have a fine quality rifle. A good sling that the others suggested, and lots of ammo is all I recommend ETA: Good cleaning and maintenance suggestions by Quib too! Thanks! A sling is definitely on the list to do. Ammo, well I don't think I'll never have enough of that but I'll do my best :D |

Very nice, seems like you have the best of the best accessories. Seems like you have the same problem as me, cant get the rest of the damn white paint around the safe position by the "nub" Thanks man! And yeah I had a hard time with getting the rollmark painting to look decent. They don't seem to be very deep at all on this gun so it took several times of trying just to get them to this point where they look decent. I scrubbed and scrubbed trying to get that last white off before finally giving up lol. |

Can't you get rid of one of the QD mounts for simplicity sake? I could remove the LaRue from it very easily and just use the GG&G. The LaRue serves simply as a small riser to get the irons down in the lower portion of the glass as a personal preference. I bought the entire setup used as a "package" deal in the EE. I am going to shoot it both ways when I make it to the range and decide which way I like it best. I believe the previous owner required the additional rise to use in conjuction with his magnifier. |

Nice rifle and I would go with the Troy, I have one and love it. It might be a little more but its worth it. Thanks for your input. I'm still very much up in the air, I actually prefer the look of the MBUS to the Troy. I'm going to do a little more research before I make my final decision. Either way I think I'll be happy. |
