This is the buffer on my Colt 6920. For various reasons, I haven't put but about 75 rounds through the gun. But I looked at the buffer face today and I'm puzzled ... there are little "chatter" marks in a circle (apparently where the end of the BCG strikes it), and three scratch marks radiating out from the center.

Now, this stuff could have been there when I got the rifle, but it just looks odd to me.

Anyone ever see anything like this before?

you have a bur on the end of your bolt carrier. it rubs when you close the upper and lower

That makes sense, but I can't feel any with my finger. The only place it could be is the cut in the bottom of the BCG, so I think I'll radius that a little with a file and see if it stops it.

Thanks for the tip.
