I have 2 tangoDown Battle Grips. I have 3 rails. The grips don't fit on any of my rails.  Two rails are cheap, so they don't count, but the third is a Midwest Industries Forend.
I don't mean the grips go on hard... I'm saying the grip will not go on at all. I did take a file to one grip and got it to work on the M.I. rail.

How much should I spend on a forend, before I won't have a problem with the grips?

Is anyone else having problems with TangoDown?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I had 2 tango down grips each of them fit horribly on YHM rails, but fit perfecty on Larue and DD rails. Just for shits and giggles I tried on my railed 1911's and they fit pefectly on those too. I'd be interested to see if someone would mike all of the popular railed handguards to see how their measurements varie.

It was a little tight on my Larue Rail. To get it to go down past the half way point i had to smack it a few times with a wooden mallot

Never had a problem on my DD rails, but you will need a rubber mallet.  Not having to deal with this crap is one of the benefits of the new QD feature from TD.  The TD QD stubby is all I use anymore.

My Tango Down vertical grip requires a ridiculous amount of force to install on my Troy MRF-CX rail.  Even with the little tie downs.  There are the install tools (plastic) for $10 you can get from Tango Down.  It would lock up solid if I could get it more than half an inch down the rail.  I am talking shaved plastic and some of the FDE finish coming off the rail.  Tango Down QD grip ordered and on the way.

Got a FDE grip for sale

The only rails I have found that are consistently in spec are LaRue, KAC, and Vltor.

DD is pretty good but sometimes out by a couple thou.

Don't have TD grips, but have found most rail stuff - grips, bipods, light mounts... - is hit or miss.  I love standards, there are so many to choose from.
