| so i'm finishing up my first build and was just curious if I needed to take any extra steps in greasing/oiling. I have applied SLIP2000 to the hammer and trigger group as well as the BCG, is there anything further I need to lube up? |

i dip my bcg in motor oil and let it drail for a minute... then i coat the inside of the reciever, then run a wet(with oil/lube) down the barrel and follow it up with a dry patch. Ar-s cant be too wet. all excess lube does is keep residue from building up. Im not saying you have to dunk ur bcg in oil, but i wouldnt worry about individual parts, just soak the whole bcg inside and out, and anywhere there is movement... if u lube inside the buffer tube it dampens the sproing a lot, but its still nice and noticable so u know u just squeezed off that last round. |

slip2000 is better than CLP IMO, to each his own i guess i never used slip 2000... yet. I went from hopps solvent then lube to clp, now i use gunscrubber and lube with motor oil (i have high milage 5w30 right now) my gun has never been smoother... but pretty much any lube will protect ur investment so it lasts for years, just remember wd-40 isnt lube. |
| eww,wd40, haven't bought that stuff in years, I'd use pb blaster first but that stuff doesn't get near my guns, i got a small bottle of slip from bcm and LOVE it. hardest part of using it is that fact its a cleaner AND an oil, I'm use to using cleaner and oil on my pistols, thinking about using slip on it too, just have to break the habit |
