| I was cleaning the guns today and I guess the Hoppes was getting to me. I accidentally put the 9mm brush down the barrel of my AR. I did it a couple times before I realized the mistake. Did I damage the AR barrel? |

Actually by putting a 9mm brush in a 5.56, you now officially re-chambered the barrel into a 6.8spc. ![]() If I wanted to convert one of my 5.56 uppers to 6.5 Grendel, which bore cleaning brush should I use to do the conversion? A .32 maybe? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I recycle used bore brushes down to smaller calibers all the time.
My 8mm caliber brushes become .30 caliber, .30's become 6.5 mm, 6.5mm become .243, etc. The same for the pistol bore brushes up to a point. I can't say that I've managed to wear any down to .223/.224 though.
