I'm going to build a new AR and I want something easier then the button on the side. I have the Magpul Dynamics "The Art Of The Tactical Carbine" video and I like the one Travis uses in the video. its a lever looking catch near the trigger guard. I also noticed POF usa and other companies have lowers with the option on the side by the mag release button. but do they work to push and manually catch the bolt yourself?

Please help me figure out options here.

Ill make this more clear..

POF-USA has a lower where the bolt catch is near the mag release button.  does this button stick out, and you push it in to catch the bolt, or does is stick out when the bolt is "caught" and you push it to release the bolt? or does it work both ways? here is a pic:

The thing I've seen on some magpul demo's and video's is a different type of system I am unsure of. I looks like a lever near the trigger guard. It seems to do both, catch the bolt, and release it. all while using the tip of you index finger, that would be the preferred method I want but I have no idea when or if I can purchase it.

I've got a KAC SR-15E3, which has the ambidextrous bolt release.  It basically amounts to a paddle on each side of the receiver, but the "second" paddle will only release the bolt.  It will not catch the bolt in the rearward position.

It's truly an awesome addition.

Wilson makes an extended "tactical" one. not sure if that's what you were thinking.
