| I am considering making a mount for my newest AR (got it yesterday) to put in my K5 Blazer, I was wondering if anyone here knows if it is legal in Texas to have one mounted up front, or if I should just find a place to put it in the back of my Blazer (leaning more towards this anyways because it kind of draws attention to my vehicle if I have a gun mounted at the front of my car). The only problem I have is that my hard case wont fit horizontally in the back of my Blazer so I am resorting to finding a way to mount it, or if you have any other good suggestions I am open to them too, I just need to find a way to keep my gun from sliding around and damaging the finish or scope. My dad is a police officer and has a mount in his car, but he doesn't have a clue about the legality of one in a civilian vehicle. Any help will be appreciated, and sorry if this is in the wrong area. |
| Is there anyway to secure it in the hatch area of my K5 though, something that it can mount into? I can put it in the hatch area, but the case won't fit with it, and like I said, I don't want my gun sliding around. Should I just bite the bullet and buy a shorter soft carry case with room for my mags and other stuff? I am leaning towards that now, but I had the opportunity to buy a front vehicle mount from a constable friend of my dad's for $15 and it has an electronic and key release. What I might do is buy it and just find a way to mount it in the hatch area, I know it is compact enough to fit, so that may be the route I go. Thanks for all your responses. |

That looks sweet, have you had them mounted like that for a while (I assume it is your's but cannot be positive)? Only reason I ask is because everyone here saying to put it somewhere nobody can see it. I love the roof idea, but my Blazer is lifted so I would think anybody who looks into it will only see the roof, so I feel like I just got |
