have you got some CLP on there yet? yeah, I cleaned it with CLP, and there is a light coat on there in the pics. I've had some uppers that were pretty blotchy too. Probably not like that but flash photos also make things look even worse. Yeah, it's not as white as the photos make it look, so what causes it? |

Looks like kind of a blotchy application of the molybdenum dry-lube coat I'm used to seeing on the insides. yep. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=7&t=449201 |

kind of looks like the dry lube that LMT puts in their uppers. ..and BCM. My middy looked a bit like that when I got it. Ok guys, thanks, after looking at the pics in that other thread it looks just like those, and this is a BCM I didn't know that dry lube could be impossible to scrub off, that's some good shit. |

Is it a coating of something you think, cause I scrubbed the piss out of it and it's not coming off? Looks like you were hell-bent on removing the dry-lube, which is supposed to be there. I wouldn't lose sleep, since it seems to rub off in the key places pretty quickly. |

It's a little ugly... but doesn't appear it will affect function. I'd still be a little concerned and might even contact the manufacturer and get their take. Reading the thread is sometimes helpful. Read some... didn't read all... You're right... Don't mind me, I'm heavily medicated right now!!!
