I have a del-ton rifle, m-4. the fsb has a #13 on the right side.
what does the 13 stand for? I am told that I would need a fsb that is 'f' marked so that the sights would be at the right height. is this correct fsb for am-4 or not? if not correct can I install a gas block instead? just how much trouble will it be to install a gas block on this weapon? thanks mutt |

I'm kinda new at this myself, but if you have a caliper, someone recently posted that the F style front base is 0.40 taller than the regular front base. The F base should be 1.94 tall I believe from the top of the barrel to the flat the front post sits in.
I don't know how to post links, but go to this forum around page 11 or 12 for a post titled something like "Question about T and F markings". In that post someone put a drawing of the different front sight bases. I'd see how it shoots, then as recommended possibly order a taller front sight post. |

Quoted: I have a del-ton rifle, m-4. the fsb has a #13 on the right side. what does the 13 stand for? Not sure, maybe a forge code or crate number. I am told that I would need a fsb that is 'f' marked so that the sights would be at the right height. That's correct if you have a flattop upper receiver. is this correct fsb for am-4 or not? See previous response. If it's not the correct height, you can replace the front sight post with a +0.040" front sight post. Bushmaster sells them; I'm not sure of any other makers. if not correct can I install a gas block instead? Your FSB is a gas block. Do you mean replace it with a low-profile or other type of gas block? Yes, you can. just how much trouble will it be to install a gas block on this weapon? The pins on FSB tend to be kind of a PITA to remove, but it can be done with some effort and a Big F**kin' Hammer. thanks mutt You're welcome |
