Need some help here fellas.
I have a Cerro Forge marked M4 upper that also has what looks like a B or an 8.
I have pics but cant seem to get them to download.

I am wondering if this is a Blackthorne upper receiver, got it off the EE sometime ago.
I also noted some pitting on the left side of the upper, not bad but you can feel it.

Just wanting to get a handle on this, if it is a Blackthorne then its coming off and a Colt A3 is going into play.file:///home/jeff/Desktop/DSCF0785.JPG

You'll need to upload the pic to a hosting site like Photobucket for it to display here.  It won't work with the pic on your desktop.  If you want, you can email the pic to me and I'll post it for you.

.... I don't know about the B...

But I doubt there is pitting, since uppers are aluminum.

well, maybe pitting is not the word but something else is wrong then because you can feel small voids in the casting(What I call pitting).

It's not a casting... It's a forging. There's a huge difference.

Forging is what I meant to say, sorry.

Anyone recognize the mark to the left of the keyhole.

Thanks for making the pic better.

I was just curious to know what it was, my other 2 have Colt markings, but this one had me wondering.
I used it on a carbine I built for my Son, so if its a Blackthorne then its history.
