So after about hell on earth I finally have my Colt. The dealer shipped the upper and lower seperately. Upper to my residence, and lower to my FFL. I send the upper off to have an FSC556 fixed in place of the flash supressor and the bayo lug shaved, and then I pin the stock myself before I re assemble. (Im in NY). But lo and behold the lower comes in and my dealer sees the govt only crap on the receiver and says we cant do the transfer. I posted a topic yesterday regarding the whole situation. Well after about 6 phone calls and not talking to anyone in charge of anything, everyone gave false info stating that if it says "govt only it means govt only -n- you will go to jail for it if you get caught." So we call the ATF and they said were good to go but they Finally  get us in contact with the man in charge of firearm transfers in the whole of NY and he says, if you pin the stock on that lower you are good to go, we ban configurations not the printing on a  receiver. So he was gracious enough to give his number and say if you ever have trouble regarding the leo stamp on the receiver have them give him a call.... Thank God. Some sanity remains somewhere in this state. So after I get the upper back from my sunsmith I will be able to attatch the rifle.

So I must say, I have read a lot of fit and finish (negative) comments regarding Colts. Im only commenting on aesthetics because thats all Ive had a chance to look at so far.  I must have got lucky because this one sure is a beauty. And for those who complain about upper and lower fit (personally it does not bother me), I have a good feeling by looking at it (Im not allowed to assemble it into a complete rifle yet) that it will be nice and tight ( In fact so tight that you may just need a bullet to get it apart, and wish it was even a bit looser ). No marks scratches or blemishes. And believe it or not the handguards are rock solid on there no motion what so ever. Well its 63xxx and mfg in oct 08. If you cannot tell i am estatic. Okay thats all for my long post. Im going to go put her in my lap and admire her.

Looking good! I'm sure you'll love the rifle! My hat is off to you guys in those backward states with all the crap you have to put up with! (same nonsense we all had to deal with from 1994-2004). Does it have the small pin FCG?
