The above pins were added as a bonus because my lower was shipped defective and had to be repaired.  I cannot figure out how to remove them so I can put my lower back together. Has anyone ever used these before.  If so, how are they removed?

From what I am seeing in your picture it looks like it takes a a special tool with prongs to fit the small indents. Just my guess.

Bonus? Looks like another $100 in tools to get the thing apart.

Myself I just like sticking with the tried and true simple pins that have been used in the Mfg. of ARs for many years. They seem to work anyway mine work.

Yeah, no kidding.  They will probably will take a week to respond to me about this.  I didn't ask for these pins, they put them in there as a way of apologizing for a screw up. I would have been happy just to get the lower back so i can get on with my rifle.

Monday you might locate a local gunsmith who has such a tool.

Tactical Innovations made the lower.  Their web store says nothing about these pins and I have never seen them before.  They did fix the problem I had which was a purple finish on the receiver at no cost, however.

Do you have an A-1 front sight tool laying around?

It's kinda what that looks like might fit.

I would call TI and ask to speak with Craig (Wheatly) directly.

So apparently they are tapped out from the side shown in the picture.  They are anti rotating because the other side of the pin is a hex head that fits in the bushing, keeping it from rotating. I'm thankful I don't need a special tool. I'm also surprised no one else had seen these before.

Well, they sure make your lower look unique.

Wait, there's a hex head on the other side and you didn't try that first?

They do look neat though.

Yea, my thought exactly, we may need to review LEO-Nidas's mechanical inclination rating. J/K'ing I'm sure you slapped your head and let out your best Homer Simpson 'DOH' when they told you that on the phone.

Hell, I break stuff. I wanted to make sure.  I never dealt with the types of pins before. It's a miracle I didn't break off the ears at the trigger guard putting it together.

Good way to conceal out of spec and off center FCG pins...

That's exactly what I was thinking. Drill the hole over sized and corrected to center and install a bushing. Actually it sounds like too much work to make it economically viable.

No, you'll regret thiis in the future.
Very Innovative solution to a non existent problem.  Oh wait.. you said a defective lower.  Send the whole mess back and get a new lower.  This is beyond M4forgery or Franken gun.
On the plus side.   I've never seen a pentagonal spanner nut.  Looks to be well made.

Send it back

NO STAINLESS PINS...they will gaul up the receiver and the FCG.  When the parts freeze up and the FCG don't work you won't be to happy.  Don't try and fix a problem that's not there.
