im hoping someone can explain something to me..  ive read around and kind find exactly what im looking for.

ok.. so im having a hard time understanding something..  on your standard A2 (M16) the carrying handle houses the rear sight and the FSB houses the front site post..  now these two items are sighted into eachother and then when aimed result in your POI..   you have your rear windage and elevation,, and your front site post you have elevation adjustments

now on my optics ready M4 upper on my MP15..  is obviously flat all the way across and is intended to optics..  plan on putting BUIS on the rails for obvious reasons..   well my question is.. are these (most)  BUIS's manufactured with the bullet drop compensated?  almost all of them dont have rear elevation adjustment or the front site posts dont move.. so i guess im curious is how to get a perfect zero on sites that dont adjust except for windage??

i guess the easier way to ask this.. the relationship between the rear and the front sights are pre built in?..  they just assume that they will be mounted on a level plane?..  and what yardage for drop are they good out for?  are they all standard?  if i can adjust for elevation for different yardages..  how do i know the pre designed zero is at 200 or 300 yrds or even 100?

lol.. if you can make sense of my question and help out... thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe most front BUIS sight posts just screw in like the standard sight tower posts do. You would just use a standard adjustment tool to raise or lower to achieve desired POI. I am frequently wrong though (according to my wife).

Don't forget when shopping that most front sights are meant for the gas block, but some are specifically intended for use ontop the quadrail. Size definitely matters there!
