I'm going to try that light crimp. I just sat down a few hours ago with some horn 75bthps and 23.5 gr of Varget and got decent but not great accuracy out of a Superior Barrels 18"spr.

I made a thread trying to show the difference in my results from having a crimp, and not having one.

Man, thats the best looking SPR I've ever seen!
You just cost me $1495.75!   Hope ya'll can sleep well tonight.

I know I can't sleep, waitning for my MK12 Mod 3x to arrive.  If you don't mind, I'm going to copy your upper but with a Trijicon 5-20x50, but add an AFG.

$100 in Magpul XTM rail covers seems absurd.

I have been reloading since last december and I only have two loads that i would gladly load a few thousand of and thats it.

IT took me nearly two months to get my SPR to shoot sub MOA with my reloads!

Great build, how does it shoot?

The a2 is one of the best looking stocks for the SPR but so often gets overlooked.....I might run one if the UBR did not exist.

Yea, it takes some time finding the right setup. I'm hoping I happen upon a good load quickly with mine

NobadySpecial your Nothing special looks pretty sweet to me.. Whats the barrel and how does it shoot?

Here is my almost finished SPR with a superior barrels 18" barrel and a borrowed lower and scope from one of my other builds. It shoots lights out with the 40gr vmax but not so great with the horn 75bthp's. I need some cash to try some 77gr sierra MK's.

Its a 1:7 WOA 18" SPR and with 75gr PPU it shoots way better than I can, lets just leave it at that.

I will admit though, that the rifle doesn't look like that anymore, as of this morning. It is getting the full blown MK12 mod 0 treatment. So far it has the A2 stock and the ARMS SPR rail.

Nope. Its a 18" midlength WOA SPR barrel. It was built out of the stripped lower I got from noveske when I ordered my N-4

No, its a sully stock. its shaped a little different and shorter, but hard to tell from the pics. The scope is a vortex diamondback. it has a bdc reticle and I like it just fine

The Hornady 55gr. Vmax non moly has been my "do it all" or "everyday" load for prob. a cpl. yrs. now and although I shoot either TAP T2 or BHs 68gr. match HP when really trying to shoot for groups through my precision builds....the 55gr. vmax is as good of a round as Ive seen for the money and I am pretty much addicted to the fantastic consistency of it as well as the solid accuracy of it.

Here is a group shot off a cold bore through my spr using 55gr. vmax the other day and it measures right at 1"

That looks excellent pal Nice to see somebody else using my all time favorite barrel....it finally nudged my beloved 6520 pencil profile barrel as of the last 6 months or so.  Edwin has a badass 1/8th, mine and I would imagine yours are the 1/7ths.  This barrel has flat out spoiled me rotten given I show up and bring proper loads.  Cool lower as well, those seekins are really eye catching and seem to be one of the more high quality billet lowers out there.

You have any plans for a trigger unit or you rolling with the stag single stage?

Very nice rig, I love that stock. I wish I wasn't such a cheapskate and would just sell my CTR and buy one already.

Good stippling job on the mags, I think I might something like that once if I pick up some 20 rounds Pmags.

I'm just waiting on a stupid Gas block that should be here this week to finish my build
What kind of 7-10 shot groups are you guys getting at 100/200-300 yards with these rigs? I know there's a group thread in the Precision rifles forum but a lot of those aren't ARs.

Thanks pal, I am quite the fan of the UBR....it really is worth the coin imho considering you have such an overall adjustable stock that locks up in position as if it were an A2 fixed and its still the best cheekweld I have felt although the sopmod does tend to give one that buttery feeling

In terms of range and groups, sadly the majority of the time I go shooting these days...I go to a WMA area with a free range that is just to close and convenient to go anywhere else and the lil range is limited to only 125M.  I should soon be able to finally get to a range with 600m so I can truly gauge the NF "V" ret.  Check out this group from the TOS that imho is about as good as Ive seen in terms of distance and lead of steel with a SPR 18".
LINK

Try a simple ole woodburning gun for that stipling if you decide you want to try it or send me a mag or two and I would be happy to fire up the woodburner on a cpl. 20rd. pmags.....I can say for certain, it massively increased the grip on those xtm panels which imho are far from the best in  terms of actual grip but you know they look good and all Look forward to seeing your new build pal and hopefully that gas block arrives sooner rather than later.

Thank you for reminding me about the 55vmax's. I just ran a box of 250 of those through the bull barreled upper that I sold to fund the SPR. I got good accuracy from those, it was a 1/8 stainless RRA/Wilson varmint barrel..

Got a fancy new mount, and I picked up a fixed 6x scope for the mount. Thanks to Mark LaRue for the mount!

I'm not oing to lie, the scope would be considered a cheap "budget" scope, but its honestly the brightest, sharpest "cheap" scope I have every seen. I guess there really is something to a fixed scope is brighter.

Two things.....1) why not more pics and configs using the UNS in conjunct w. your stretch mrp chassis...which leads me to the bigger question for this particular thread which is why no pic/s of a SPR config'd using your mrp stretch...18" SS SPR 1/8th...one of your leupy's and the UNS?

-Superior arms lower
-Vltor A5 stock - which has more pins in it than hellraiser's head to be ban compliant, (as well as epoxy, a block between the tube and the buttpad - it's pretty much beyond permanent to be NJ legal)
-bob miller did a trigger job on the spikes battle trigger (he also did the barrel work, staked the BCG, and gave it a once over for reliability)
-one of my 15rd NJ legal P-mags
-BCM extractor upgrade
-Larue rail
-Barrel is a 1/8 match SS from fulton armory, actual mfgr, unknown (I got it a while ago ), barrel is fluted, but not too deep, and cut down to 18.5in, with a special crown. It's pretty much got 2 recessed crowns on it
-RRA upper
-SWFA super sniper 3-9x42 in a larue mount
-Burris fastfire on the larue ring
-DPMS BUIS

Oh, and my miller custom 1911 is on the bottom
