| Hi all. New to the forum and, honestly, new to AR rifles. I just bought one a few days ago, Stag Arms. Always wanted one, but never really learned much about them (I tend to be more into older mil-surp guns). Anyway, being new to ARs, I am somewhat AR retarded. Are there any websites with basic information about the rifles? I could spend six weeks just reading over this forum, but I was interested in basic maintenance and things like that. I can take it down for a basic cleaning, but what about a real good cleaning? Stuff like that. Just good stuff to know about the rifle. Thanks! |

You can start with the Maintenance and Cleaning discussions forum. May I suggest looking at the folders tacked at the top of the list, including: "Field Strip and Cleaning", "Quib's AR15 Lube Points", and "Quib's Bolt Cleaning Procedure".
Some also find the military technical manuals to be good for reference, ie, the USMC Technical Manual (I can't find my copy right now, so don't have the number), or the Army TM9-1005-319-23. The latter manual can be downloaded in PDF format, but I don't remember where from; it's about 2.5 MB in size. Welcome to the forum, and hope you enjoy your new acquisition... |

what they said, quib is the maintnence guy of these forums... anything about it you need to know, hell tell you and have a goofy cartoon to illustrate Don’t underestimate or mock those “goofy cartoons” as many others here do. They are Dept of the Army approved Tech Documents the same as any TM or FM. |
