Recently put a stag LPK into a SDI lower. Didn't have any problems until it came time to insert the selector/detent and grip. The selector didn't seem to sit flush as it should and was extremely difficult to switch from safe to fire. It felt as if the detent was grinding as it was moving and wasn't properly seated. Also it wasn't able to fire. Any ideas/recommendations? I assume it might just be improperly machined and need to get it replaced.

Thanks.

Stupid question, but I have to ask.

Did you make sure to drop the detent into your receiver with the pointed tip engaging the selector?

Weird.

I would remove the grip, spring and detent and see how the selector rotates in the receiver when it's not loaded under the spring tension. If that seems nice and smooth, inspect the channel in the selector where the detent rides.

When you say it's hard to move the selector, that leads me to believe that you have too much spring preload on the detent.

the selector rotates fine without a detent/spring
the channel seems fine as well...its almost as if it doesn't seat properly...the detent will only sink down into the hole if the selector is protruding more than it should be...then it won't fire
