Just finished this one up today. I've had the rifle for over a year but I have been deciding exactly what I wanted to do while putting rounds downrange to make sure it was up to par before spending money on accessories. It's going to be my new primary rifle so I wanted it to be high quality and durable. I also wanted all the modern advantages while keeping it light and handy like an AR carbine should be.

The specs:

CMMG A3 midlength upper-16" govt profile 4150 chrome lined 1/7 barrel - from Aim
YHM Phantom 5C2 flash suppressor - from Denny's
A.R.M.S #40 flip up BUIS - from Bravo Co.
EOTech 516 - from Brightflashlights
Daniel Defense Omega 9.0 - from Brightflashights
Surefire X300 w/XT-07 switch - from Brightflashlights
RRA complete lower with Hogue RRA grip
CMT milspec M4 stock assembly - from Bravo Co
Boonie Packer 2P-TQA sling
MagPul P-Mags

Very nice indeed, I would replace the M4 stock, just because a Magpul CTR would look cooler, but a fine weapon with quality sights, light, and rails. She is pretty.

All of my ARs sport standard M4 stocks. I do need to buy a new one for a KISS build and I was thinking of trying the CTR and swapping it onto this gun. It looks the same and is only $12 more...

Very well done. I don't think I would have done anything different than you.

Whoops! I forgot to list the weight. With sling, light, and EOTech it weighs exactly 7.8 lbs.

If you don't have a middy you should really consider building one. I have two, this one and a 14.5" A2 KISS middy. My next project is a 16" medium contour RECCE-ish middy. I've only got one carbine now and I'm only keeping it because I plan to eventually SBR it.

I've got a KAC VFG that I was planning to use on this weapon but I haven't decided for sure yet. If I end up liking the VFG with the XT07 I might end up switching it out for a TDI stubby. I would like to have somewhere on the weapon to stash a couple CR123As since the X300 and 516 both use them.

Very nice.

Side note- At first I thought your EOTech looked funny, then I realized you got the super cool new version.  I get so used to looking at the old skool one I have, it just struck me as odd.  I bet having the buttons on the side was  probably a huge improvement.

Yes, it's a new 516 and the buttons on the side is a plus. I also like that it's got a built in lower 1/3 cowitness so it's not necessary to buy a riser. The best part, for me anyway, is that it uses the same batteries as the light-which also gives it a longer run time.

I just bought an Eotech 517, wondering what the difference is, is it the batteries? mine uses AA

Yep, the 516 uses CR123A batteries. I got it for the compatibility with my light but they are also supposed to give 400 extra hours of run time versus alkaline AAs .
