I have three different springs here.

Two have a free length of about 11 1/2".  One is a circular cross-section wire coiled into a spring.  The other is a rectangular cross-section (flat) wire coiled into a spring.

The third spring has a free length of about 12 1/2" long.  It is made of circular wire coiled into a spring.

What are these for?  Is one for a rifle and the others for carbines?  Are they all for carbines?  Are they all for rifles?

Can someone answer this question, please?  Otherwise, where would I go to get the answer?

Are these NEW springs?

I forget, off the top of my head, what length the carbean spring should be.  But I wouldn't run any of that aftermarket flat coil nonsense in any of my guns.

Thank you, gentlemen.  That explains why I was having a problem.  I had a rifle spring in a carbine stock extension.  The bolt could not retract far enough to properly lock back.  Problem solved.

Thanks, again.
