I have a general question I was hoping someone could provide feedback on before I make a purchase. I currently have a DPMS A1 style upper receiver on my current AR. I'm not very fond of the A1 so I wanted to change it out with an A3 or A4 flat top upper. I know most all AR parts are interchangeable but my main question is should I stick with a DPMS branded upper or could I go with something like an M&A A4 flat top without running into any issues? The reason I picked M&A is because they have A4's in stock and ready to ship.
My second question is from a quality standpoint am I getting what I pay for? M&A's prices are very reasonable and in some cases less than half the cost of the same product from a few other suppliers. I don't mind paying a little more for a quality product (NOT saying that M&A is not a quality product because I've never dealt with them) but if everyone pretty much provides the same product across the board I'd opt for the lesser cost. Your thoughts are appreciated. |

Brand really doesn't matter on the fit issue unless you start looking at older Colt uppers/lowers. As for getting what you pay for that is pretty much true. If you're just looking to plink rounds occasionally then go with whatever you want. If you're looking for the ultimate in reliability and durability then start looking to Colt, BCM, LMT, Noveske, LaRue products. |
