G'day.
Anway, heres my question guys. I'm going to be leaving home for a a period of 2 years for some religous responsabilities, and will not be able to take my rifles with me. They will be left in the care of my family while I am gone. I AM CURRENTLY LOCATED IN HOUSTON TX. My question is, what is the best way to store my rifles for this long period of time? The rifles will most likely, at least for the great majority of the time be un-disturbed. These rifles have costed me a fair amount of money, and I would like to protect my investment while I am gone. I am thinking something like a Storm Hardcase+lubrication/preservative coating on rifles maybe? 1. I have two rifles (Colt 6920 and dedicated 22LR) 2. There is the possability that my family may move elsewhere in Texas during my absence (i.e storage must be mobile and shock resistent/proof) 3. Cost must be kept within resonable bounds. (Can't spend more than a couple hundred dollars total) So if someone could suggest something, that'd be great |
| Had really good luck with Kleen-bore's Inhibitor storage bags. Didn't like it, but had to keep about 25 firearms in an uninsulated storage unit for about a year without really being able to access them. Cleaned & oiled them well, put them in the bags, zipped them shut, and forgot about them for a year. No issues when I got them back. |
