I'm trying to remove the fixed buttstock from a Colt 6400c lower.  The castle nut is staked, staked so well it won't budge even with a castle nut wrench..any ideas???

6" pipe wrench, buy a new castle nut if you can't take the small scratches the wrench leaves.

Have you tried to hit the staked material with a punch?  That usually works for me... kind of push it back out of the nut.

I may try it. I'm replacing the whole buttstock unit with a new collapsible kit anyway.
