Hey guys.  I'm looking into finally being able to buy/build an EBR.  I have an SPR build already in progress.  However, I also want a carbine type rifle.  Those items that I have marked as such could be used in either case.  The first option is a Colt 6920(which I've seen locally for about $1600) If I went with this option, I couldn't really afford to do anything to it (except for a MOE handgaurd and CTR stock) for a while after buying it.  The other choice is an LMT build (approximate cost $1500) that would look like this:

LMT 16in Barreled upper
Young MFG chrome BCG (already have, and could put on eitherif I had too)
ACLM CH
Troy rear flip-up sight (already have and could put on either if I had too)
DD Omega 7.0 rail
Magpul CTR mil-spec stock (already have and could put on either if I had too)
RRA LPK (already have)
I'm also very interested in continuing the trend of the ACLM, and ambi-ing out the LMT if I were to choose that option, because I'm pretty ambidextrous (lefty shooting is a bit easier) and would like to train up both reaction and main side shooting.

+ a lower that will be bought at gun-show on sat.

I don't have a lot of experience, and I'm doing my best to not make a purchase that I will regret later.  If those of you who have used either an LMT, or the colt 6920, or even better, both, or have thoughts on the superiority of either rifle could teach me from your experience, than I would very, very much appreciate it.  In my head the Colt 6920 has the advantage of being a complete rifle from the box, and it would also hold it's value better.  The LMT is cheaper, so I could afford to beef it up more as far as the accessories/ add-ons.

Thanks, and sorry for the uber-long post

Both companies put out fine product.  It's not hard to build a rifle to the same level or quality/reliability as a complete.

If it were me, I'd get the Colt, making sure it had the .154 pins.  Then just save your money until you can afford to add stuff on.

Do you have a preference, or are they set up for different purposes?

As far as accuracy of the Colt barrel versus the LMT, is there really any notable difference?

I heard that the Colt 6920s were going to be rpoduced with the standard .154 pins soon.  If the gun-show that I was goingto buy it at was sat., what do you think my chances are offinding one that had the standard pins?

no diff in accuracy, honestly. I'd be surprised if they both shot over 1MOA...

I'd go for the LMT, honestly––- more customized... more what you want right?....

the quality of parts is fine there =)   go for it!
