Not a problem. I still have to look at the FAQ every once and awhile. I don't know what it is but I feel like people use more acronyms in their sentences than words around here.

Time, clarity.

My type-fu is weak. Always has been. Plus it's a bitch trying to type on a mobile. Just use the abreviated version and we're GTG.

Plus it allows you to be more accurate with what you're trying to say, believe it or not. Imagine giving advice about a BCG problem. You refer to the "bolt" for this, the "bolt carrier group" for that. Before long, your shortening your statements to "the carrier" when what you mean is the "bolt carrier group". Problem is, those are two destinctly different things, and getting them confused will cause misunderstanding at best. So, bolt, BCG, maybe BC. Your able to keep your words accurate, so more than just "old hands" will know what your talking about.
