i just purchased a scope setup for my Bushmaster M4/A2. This setup features two scopes a laser and flashlight. I have included a link at the bottom that shows this product. Well I got this thing in and mounted it and it looked great so I sent the rifle over to a gentleman suggested by a friend of mine to have him align the scopes and laser. He called me back and said that the setup would not work on this rifle mounted to the A2 handle and that he could barely bring the lower scope in line and that it was imposssiable to align the upper scope and the laser because of where they were mounted and there was not enough adjustment. I'm no expert but I have seen several AR-15 rifles with scopes and lasers mounted just as these are and I figure they must be working for these people. I am waiting to get my gun back and seek a second opinion. In the meantime if anyone has a moment and look at this setup at the link below and tell me what you think about this.

First off, welcome aboard.
http://www.tacticalgears.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=700 I'm not so sure about that set-up... the quality of the electronics is doubtful... I wouldn't think that it would work too well on a carry handle. Ask yourself what you be using your weapon for primarily. All you really need is ONE flexible optic, like an Aimpoint (perhaps with an optional 3X magnifier) and a good weapon light. Skip the laser. Go for quality, not quantity. Simple is better and that rig looks far from simple... |

That does look a little crazy excessive. But, I have a scope, and a red dot sight. I just have them both with QDs so I can change back and forth as needed. But, I have my laser mounted under the barrel on the bottom forward rail. Anyway, there is no reason that the scope, red dot sight and laser couldn't all be adjusted to hit the same spot at 50 yards. There is no reason. Unless, one or the other is malfunctioning. All mine are sighted at 50 yards. That way, they are withing an inch at 200 yards. And, I can shoot off a little to hit at 100 yards.
But all yours are facing forward and should be able to adjust to the same point in front of the rifle at 50 yards. I think either your stuff is broke or your guru aint so great. Also I spend a little more for better optics, but the price listed for that set up is really high. I can't justify the amount they want for AImpoint, but there are good quality alternatives for a decent price out there. Centerpoint for example. Aim LLC. are also halfway decent. If you have rails, try mounting the laser and flashlight up farther on the handguards. If you fire off that flashlight were it is, you are going to blind your iron sights. |
