I know there are a few states who still have bans on flash hiders etc unless you have a pre ban receiver.  I just bought another new rifle and am cleaning out some of stuff and have a pre ban Olympic SGW Stop sign CAR15 receiver I bought back in '82 or so.  It is well used and works fine.  My intent is to strip it (I need the LPK for something else) and offer it up to our brothers behind the lines.  I am not looking to gouge anyone but I would like to offset the cost of my new rifle somewhat.  Can someone suggest fair value before I put it up FS?

Stripped it is probably worth around $450.00

For just the receiver, maybe 350 - 450 or more perhaps.  I saw a preban  AR sell a year or so ago on EE for 1200... Who knows what they'd be worth now.  I have a preban PWA Car-15 w/the 11 1/2" with fixed looong flash hider to bring it up to 16".  Looks wicked.  Since I have other AR's,  I was thinking of selling it but perhaps is not the smartest thing to do with a possible ban coming.

You would make someone in NY very happy.

I bought it as a complete CAR lower, do you think I should sell it without stripping it?

I am not worried about future bans, but I have numerous other lowers and this one might be useful to someone in NY or other places.
