Ok, I was recently given some uppers and I have no idea how to ID them.

The first one is a flat-top stripped upper, looks new, no markings on it other than what looks like a key-hole shape above the forward assist. Also has no "T" markings.

The second appears to be a barely used flat-top 20" upper with no handguards. The barrel is marked "B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 H BAR". No markings on the reciever section itself other than "T" markings on the rail with no coloring of the numbers.

I'm guessing that the 20" is a bushmaster based on where it came from, but I have no idea otherwise.

This makes me wish uppers had a brand name on them just like lowers.

Key hole = Cerro Forge casting, several manufactures use them.

Cool piece of info. Thanks!
Any idea on the 20" barrel or are those just genaric markings on a 20" 5.56 1x9 Heavy Barrel? What's "B MP"?

That's a Bushmaster barrel that has been MP tested
