I just received my barreled upper today.  I took it out and looked down the barrel.  About 1/2 way down the barrel I notice what looks like some debris.  I run a cleaning brush down the bore and look again.  It's still there.  I use gun scrubber and the bore brush.  It's still there.  Finish cleaning the bore.  It's still there.  I don;t know if it's a ding, a pit, or what it is.

Any ideas what it could be?  Would you take it out shooting?  Anyone else experience this?  I'm inclined to call the dealer on Monday and send it back, (I hate to do that because I've already waited 3 weeks for it).

Thanks, Dave

Is it by the gas port?   Could be flash left from drilling the hole?

Burr at the gas port?

If so, you can try to knock it down with a piece of drill rod or just shoot it out.

It is on the upper part of the barrel about 1/2 way down.  I knew you guys would have the answer.  Thanks a lot and I'll give it a shot.
