| I am putting on a new upper. Do I reuse the rings or replace with new when attaching the barrel? |
|
Does this mean that you're replacing the upper but using the existing bolt carrier group? If so, a greater concern might be the bolt itself; conventional wisdom here suggests that a new barrel and a used bolt are a bad combo; new bolt in an old barrel isn't a problem.
There is some question of checking any bolt change, but quality components are usually OK. Moon |

It's the " attaching the barrel" part that threw me.

I thought he was wanting to know how to know if the gas rings need to be replaced. |

OlCrow, would you mind if I use your pic? You've summed it up a lot more clearly than I do whenever I try to explain it. ETA: I'd host it myself so as not to mooch your bandwidth No problem, I picked it up somewhere online. I saved it because it's much easier than trying explain it. |
