[ARCHIVED THREAD] - barrell markings

Hey guys I'm new to ARs and trying to fiigure out what make my upper is. The lower is an older DPMS that left the factory as a lower only. I bought the gun from a private individual who didn't know much about ARs. The only markings on the upper are on the FSB which are B99 R1. It's a 16" heavy barrell with 7" fore grips with an A2 upper. I'll post pics later I'm going to the range. thanks

FSB markings tell you nothing about who made a barrel. It's prolly a Wilson or Shaw budget barrel. They are nice though.

You have undoubtedly pulled the fore grips and checked for markings underneath them?

yeah I checked under the fore grips when I got it. I haven't checked under the "delta ring" I read somewhere that some makers put them there.

Don't bother, I have the same barrel but in a mid lenth. Married to a Armalite A2 upper/DMPS older lower, the barrel will have no markings. It has been a great shooter, groups well, still runnin....
