IS there any kind of a link to barrel marking descriptions? I have a bbl, that has no markings near the muzzle, but next to the rear delta ring it says "N9A"
What does this mean? Thanks in advance! |

Nato (5.56) chamber, 1:9 twist, chromoly barrel. It is an older RRA barrel.
From the RRA industry section: Old Codes: Three characters side by side over the chamber. First Character: N or W...N for NATO chamber or W for Wylde Second Character: 8 or 9...8 for 1:8 twist and 9 for 1:9 twist. Third Character: A, S, or C...A for moly (chrome -moly Alloy), S for Stainless, and C for Chrome-lined alloy. |

Length? Profile? Lined? Twist? Ramps? Pics? 16 inch m4 profile heavy underhandguards. no m4 feedramps. The chamber appears to be chromelined, but the next post states that it's an RRA. That's interesting. Took it to SGB, he though it was prolly chomelined, but didnt know for sure because of markings. |

Giive me the total lowdown on older RRA m4 barrels. This is definitely a heavy under handguards 16inch m4 bbl. If it is indeed an RRA as the markings indicate(N9A) at it's not CHROMELINED, why is the chamber extremely shiny and able to have carbon wipe off so easily? Did RRA make chrome moly bbls with chrome chambers? My other chrome moly doesnt clean up that well compared to this one.
Any more ideas? Silky |
