Hello all, it has been a long time sense my last post.
I am building an AR in 6.8 SPC, can I use the same mags as a 5.56?

No.
The outside dimensions are the same but the side grooves in a 6.8 magazine are shallower to accomodate the larger round.

No. But you can find C Products 6.8 Mags at a decent price.

C-Products mags are fine if you don't reload but if you do PRI mags allow longer COAL. Out to around 2.3".

6.8 mags listed in order of best to possible problems (I own them all).

Barrett (only bet your life mag)
PRI waffle (best mag in same length as a regular AR mag)
PRI old (good mag, possibly tight in mag well)
C-Products 25rd newest design (may be as good as PRI if spring changed to a high quality one, thoroughly test each mag)
C-Products 25rd older (require feed lip adjustments and spring change to be useful)
C-Products curved 15 round (feed lip adjustment)
C-Products straight old 20rd style (I sent them back as they never worked)

I would STAY AWAY from C-Products mags.  I had 2 - 20 (or 17?) rounders a while back. (straight mags)  The rounds would bind in the mag when there got to be 5-7 of them.  They would sit below the feelips a quarter inch.  Although they had an "enhanced" follower in them, I could easily tilt them so they would bind.  I sent them back to C-Products months ago and have not gotten anything in return....new functional mags or $.

LOOK HERE

Save yourself some trouble and get PRI or Barret.  I bought some PRI mags and they have functioned 100% from day 1.  By the way, I have the "old style" PRI.  (non-waffle style)

Wow, $40 for a mag? That's hard to swallow
