Well i just bought a KAC RAS for a Carbine with a date code of 2000 The T numbers are different as well as the way it secures compared to the one i have from 2004.

Are their different generations?

The 2000 date code has the locking screw ontop by the FSB...

Will get pics in the morning but anyhelp now would be apreciated.

did you buy the RIS instead?

Sounds like a RIS, not a RAS. Both are still in production by KAC.

Odd number markings = RIS
Even numbers = RAS

The T-numbers on the RIS run the oposite way and there is only one locking screw. It sounds like a RIS.

The t numbers and an additional locking screw.

Seems the RAS will lock up more secure by the way it claps to the delta ring

My RIS has a small degree of movement. I would prefer the RAS for this reason.
