I saw a pic on here somewhere that had a stand someone made out of wood that would hold their rifle pivoted open so you could clean it.  I wanted to make one and now I cant find the thread.  Anyone know of it?

Thanks,

someone was selling a plastic insert that held the rifle open while pivoting on the front take down pin.  Is this what you are referring to?

I do not know about that one, but I have found this to work perfectly.. It sucks for it's intended use as a bench rest, but is GREAT for cleaning. Ever has nice little trays for brushes, pins, etc...

May be found cheaper, got mine from flea-bay for $15..

You strap your upper to the higher rest, which has different heights, and then let your pivoted lower rest on the lower one. Works like a charm for most any firearm, even pistols.
