I have an LRB Arms M15 AR with a Model One A3 Flat Top 16" Gov profile 1:9 twist 5.56 upper and just bought another lower (DPMS) to build a 6.8 SPC, but today I ran into a guy that has a like new complete DPMS 6.8 SPC flat top 1:10 twist upper he wants to trade me for my 5.56 upper. I know DPMS isn't the best but neither is the Model One I already have, so what should I do? keep my 5.56 upper and build the 6.8 later down the road or go ahead and make the swap for the 6.8 upper now and make the later build the 5.56 instead of the 6.8? |

Edit to figure out question: I have an LRB lower, with a Model One 16" flat top upper. The barrel is a 5.56 gov profile w/ 1:9 twist. I also have a DPMS lower that will be built into a 6.8 SPC. Today I ran into a guy that has a "like new" DPMS 6.8 SPC flat top 1:10 twist upper. He wants to trade me for my 5.56 upper. I know DPMS isn't the best, but, neither is the Model One I already have. What should I do? Keep my current upper (5.56) and build the 6.8 later? Should I go ahead and make the swap for the 6.8 upper now and put off the 5.56? Of the two uppers in question, I would take the DPMS 6.8. What barrel length is it? |
