I want to replace the trigger in my SPR clone with a Geissele DMR trigger. The description in the Brownells catalog says this comes with an oversize hammer pin.
I really leary of doing anything to a lower (in this time anyway) that would alter it from original spec. I've used RRA two-stage triggers with KNS 2nd Gen anti-rotational pins before, for this same reason. I'm wondering if I can do the same here. If anybody has any experience with such please advise. Thanks |

Other than KNS pins are a stupid wste of money, the Geissele Hammer doesnt have the pin in the middle like normal hammers. In short, dont do it. |

The oversize pin is only oversized by half a mil or so, its really not much. When you tap it into your lower it is still a clearance fit so there is no damage to your lower at all. Just use a little lube when putting the pin in.
The oversize pins should allow for less movement of the pins in the lower which results in a more consistent trigger pull. Edit: As stated above the KNS pins are not compatible with the high speed triggers, only the SSA triggers. This is due to the hammer pin retaining clip being off center. |

I gotta say I didn't expect anyone to call BS on that. i also got lucky with Rainier Arms also, usps dropped off my order friday.i had ordered some 20rd usgi mags but they sent 30 rounders so i called to see if they wanted them back or to reinvoice my CC for the difference, being the great guys that they are they just said to keep them.when i went to the website to reorder some 20's i saw SSA's in stock and he said they had just gotten a few in that am.needless to say "order in".i also hope to have mine here monday or tuesday.received my shipping confirmation less than an hour after i placed the order. i was also lucky and picked one up when they first came out b4 the huge backorders.and they were only $145 back then. i'll have 2 of them now and won't even be able to use them for a while.
damn this waiting on tax stamps thing |
| Are the different models of Geissele triggers just for different competition classes? I would like to get a SSA but I have a Colt, and they only make them with the small pin. I am just looking for a good reliable trig for all around use. Any recommendations between the Match, Service, and DM? |
